Coretta
Mark went to the auction to buy a shed, but the
prices were too high. As he was walking by the horse pens, Coretta
reached out to him and stole his heart. He ended up buying and
did not realize that he had just bought a double line Poco Bueno
Filly. Since we rescue horses, we really didn't know what a Poco
Bueno was. We sure do now!
Coretta was a joy to play the games with. When
I ask her to do the circle game she would squeal and play the game
with so much excitement you would think I had just turned her out to
a beautiful green pasture. She is very responsive and loves to have
a job to do.
I had not ridden her yet when I was asked to
fill in at a Jack Brainard Clinic for one of my Students. I only
had a week to get her ready so I rode her for 1 hour each day until
the clinic. The first day was pretty scary and I thought I had lost
my mind for doing the clinic. By the fourth day, we did a small
reining competition. There were several people that had ridden in
the same clinic for three years and a couple of Normal Trainers. We
got second place! I felt pretty good about myself. Thinking I
might get a pat on the back from Jack Brainard, I approached him and
said "we did pretty good huh?' He said " that's what she is bred
for." He was definitely right. I took her to a cow sorting for the
first time and she acted like she had done it her whole life. She
is totally amazing.
If I happen to find the perfect person for her,
I might think about selling her, since I do not do cow working.
