Mac

We had just bought our 35 acres at an Auction and were working on fencing when four baby goats came running to me.  I tried to find the owner but didn't have any luck.  They stayed at my place for a couple of days and then disappeared.  I was told that they were living at some cliffs near by.  It was during the heavy snow of 2007 and I was afraid that they would die.  I rode Cricket to the cliffs every day with a bag of grain for the goats.

Cricket looked forward to the ride because he knew that he would get a bite of the grain.  I would holler for the goats and they would come running.  The smallest one would put his front legs up on the side of Cricket and look at me with soft eyes. I grew very attached to him.

In the Spring, the owner showed up and wanted his goats.  It was a sad day for me and Cricket.  I told him that I sure would like to have that little one if he decided to get rid of him.

Sure enough, a couple of weeks later he took them to auction and brought the little one back to me.  We named him Mac.

Mac got in the way of a dog that tore him up pretty bad so I brought him to my house in town and we doctored him.  It took a good Month before he healed up but now he is good as new.

He thinks he is a dog and follows us when we go riding, sits with us when we are relaxing, eats with us when we are eating and is always wanting to be rubbed.  He is a gentle fellow.

When we are not out there, he stays with the horses.  When we drive up, he makes a beeline for us.  When we drive off, he runs back to the horses.

If you don't pay attention to him, he gives you a little Love Butt.  Everyone enjoys Mac!
