Moses
Moses was in the same pen as Jez and Blue. Since we did not
have our own place, we could not take him even though we fell in
love with him as soon as we saw those brig brown eyes.
Mark stopped to see him any time that he went to Longmont. He had
wanted a Mule for a long rime and Moses really nabbed his heart.
As soon as we closed on our Land, we called CHR to let them know
that we wanted Moses. But first we had to take out all of the
barbwire and install safe electric rope. It seemed like we were
creeping along. When I look back on it we were actually moving quite
fast.
The CHR newsletter came out and Moses picture was in it saying he
was available. Afraid of losing him to someone else, we immediately
sent in our adoption papers and paid for Moses. Mark was getting
his Mule, Moses for Christmas Dec. 2006
We loaded Jez and Blue into the trailer to go get Moses.
When we pulled into the CHR driveway, Moses was walking to the
gate and looked at us as if to say "It is about time you got
here." "I have been waiting for you!" Mark led him to the
trailer and he hopped right in.
Blue, Jez and Moses were finally together again and we headed
for their new home, Sprit Dancer Ranch.
Moses is quite the character and we have had several people that
would like to buy him, but Moses belongs with us.
If some of the horses get out of the pasture, Moses acts like he
is counting them as they come back to the pasture. When he is
satisfied that they are all in, he relaxes and joins the herd.
When I play with the horses he will try to stick his nose in the
halter so that I will play with him. I get on the rail, Moses
comes over beside it so I can sit on him.
